That’s why I created the CALM method. It’s not about being a “perfect” parent (spoiler: that doesn’t exist!)—it’s about using practical, brain-based strategies that work with your child’s development, not against it. My approach blends the science of child development with real-world parenting wisdom, because you need tools that work at 6 AM when everyone’s late and 7 PM when everyone’s tired.

Today, I help parents of children 0–12 turn daily battles into opportunities for connection. Whether you’re managing tantrums, bedtime resistance, or just want to enjoy your kids more, I’ll support you with evidence-based strategies that feel authentic to your family.

When I’m not coaching parents, you’ll find me cheering on my daughters at soccer games, dancing in the kitchen, or enjoying bonfires and lake days. I also prioritize my own wellness through yoga, weight training, and mindfulness, and I love volunteering, reading about child development, and catching live concerts. Modeling joy, connection, and self-care isn’t just something I teach—it’s how I live.

I know what it's like to feel like you're failing as a parent—repeating yourself ten times, losing your cool more than you'd like, and wondering why nothing works. When I transitioned from educator to parent, I was shocked by how hard it was to apply child development knowledge at home. The theories I knew by heart felt impossible to use when I was exhausted, triggered, and just trying to get through the day.

But here's what I discovered: parenting isn't about perfection—it's about connection. With 13+ years working with children and families and a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education, I learned our most powerful tool isn’t a chart or reward system—it’s our ability to stay calm and connected, even in tough moments.

You Don't Have to Navigate Parenting Alone—Here's How We'll Transform Your Family Life Together.

Hi there, I'm Amy—and I'm so glad you found your way here!

Kimd words from past clients

Mother of three (ages 4-12) after 7 parenting sessions

Working with Amy has given me practical tools that are actually changing our family dynamics. I've learned to step away when situations escalate instead of getting pulled into the chaos, using scripts like 'I'm leaving now because your sister isn't safe, I'm having a hard time staying calm, and I don't want to get mad. I'll come back when you're calm'—while still affirming my love.

The biggest shift has been learning not to respond to negative behaviors in the moment and addressing conflicts when we're both ready to talk. I'm being more present with my daughter and praising her for positive choices, and when my kids fight, I stay neutral and discuss it later instead of jumping in immediately.

Amy's approach of staying comforting and neutral has helped me feel more in control as a parent, even during our toughest weeks. These strategies are making a real difference in how our family handles difficult moments.

Mother of three (ages 10-16) after one parenting session

After just one session with Amy, I completely shifted my approach with my kids. Instead of focusing on all the things they were doing wrong, I started praising them for the good choices they were making. The change was incredible—within just one week, my kids became more positive and started listening more.

Amy helped me see how powerful it is to catch my children doing things right instead of always correcting what they're doing wrong. It's amazing how such a simple shift created such a big difference in our home so quickly.

Mother after one parenting session (age 23)

After just one session with Amy, I had a profound realization that changed everything. I got curious about my generational parenting patterns and noticed I was treating my daughter exactly the same way my mom treated me during challenging moments when I was growing up.

I remembered how much I didn't like being treated that way as a child, and here I was doing the exact same thing to my daughter. In that moment, I made the choice to stop and change.

Amy helped me find my calm and break that cycle. I'm already feeling so much more connected with my daughter. It's incredible how awareness of those patterns can create such an immediate shift in our relationship.
